I absolutely love the original bitty baby...or New Baby. I have a doll, a partial sweater set, sleeper, diaper shirt and diaper. Does anyone else here collect this?
I was drooling over the bit-o-bunny but couldn't rationalize paying $50 for it. I would also love to have the party dress.
This is on the top of my collecting wishlist!!! I love it!!! Does anyone here have a catalog that I could purchase that has the entire collection listed? Or any items they might want to sell? I am so tired of searching ebay.
But, I do enjoy it when I find a New Baby item and the seller doesn't know that is what it is. That way I may have a shot at getting a winning bid.
I recently won a listing that had the diaper bag, lotion and powder, & party dress. But I let another member of ebay have it because she had set up an agreement with the seller. I know my actions will be repaid at some point. Just wanted to talk about my latest addiction!!! Anyone else hooked?

It might be easy to spot them on ebay actually because back then, there "official" colors for the collection were red and light blue. Many outfits, and the stroller and carrier and stuff were all made red and light blue striped. So it kind of stands out from current bitty baby stuff. Especially since back then they made the baby clothes for boys and girls so you could decide if your doll would be a boy or girl. To me a major difference is that back then, the clothes were made a lot more realisticlaly- like real baby outfits- NOT how they make them today where they look like costumes and toy clothes, not real baby clothes.
I remember they had a stroller, carrier, and an adorable bassinet basket (that was not red and blue!) and they had a diaper bag. They had a Christening dress like one they might still have now, a red and white jumper set for boys and girls, and a red and blue stiped play outfit I think. Not sure about that last one.
I don't know though, I probably didn't say anything here that was useful

I loved that collection. The baby items were actually babish! Not trendy small clothes for bitty. We used to have the interactive book, but DS destroyed it! It was very cute. Good luck collecting!

Oh, I wanted to tell you, your "partial sweater set" is actually not partial! I remember they sold a white sweater with a hood- there were no pants or anything to it. So your set is probably not actually partial, that is all there was to it.

StarTrekCaptain: Thank you for the info. I love any information I can get on this stuff! I agree that the appeal is the realistic "baby" clothing.

I have the catalog scans from the Our New Baby collection. If anyone wants to see, PM me with your email address. (PM means to click the little envelope above my name to send me a private message)

I really want a Bitty Baby, but would much rather get an Our New Baby doll. I remember when they first came out, not really liking them at all. But now I've really taken an intrest in them. I much more perfer the Out New Baby collection because, as afore mentioned, the clothes look alot more of what a real baby would wear. I also find them much more cuter than Bitty Baby's clothes. Secondly, I would really want to have a boy doll. The Bitty Baby collection has only stuff for baby girls. Third, I guessing the quality is alot better. It really seems that the older a Pleasent Company item is made, the more well-made it is. But, I really should stick to my American Girl collection.

We have some of the ONB stuff & like all of it. We've managed to collect via ebay a partial sweater set (sweater & hat but no booties), taffeta dress, a couple red/white stripe rompers & 1 red t-shirt, 1 red/white stripe dress, 1 or 2 of the ruffle neck zippered sleepers & a diaper or two. We also won one of the older christening dresses but the elastic in the sleeves is shot. I need to figure out how to put new elastic in.
We also have several of the older dolls that are sometimes called "palms up" that have the super blonde lashes. The hair molding seems more defined too, we think. I've seen several on ebay lately.
I would like more baby-type clothing for bitty since she's supposed to be a baby. Let the twins dress in the toddler-type stuff.
Happy collecting & good luck in your search. It's nice to find sellers who don't really know what they've got. Sometimes you can get a super item for not too much money. I hesitate to email those sellers to ask for more information for fear of their reply along with my question being added to their listing!

I do. I have the boy's taffeta suit, the sweater, the knit rompers for boy and girl, the play dress, the party dress and the diaper bag (found at a yard sale for 50 cents). I also have the boy sized red overalls and the girl sized red overall skirt and red and light blue shirt that I intend to photograph my kids in. Oh yes ant the original denim front carrier. I also have the caucasian new baby with blonde hair and the AA new baby we named Dolores.
I stopped collecting for awhile but feel the urge coming back.

I have just started collecting older BB (new baby) stuff for Sunny. I am hoping to find an old catalog with pictures of everything!
I am also nervous about ebay!
